Custom Cabinets

So you want a cabinet. It all starts with an idea . . .

Made to order

Unlike larger companies, we don't build inventory—we use a select set of suppliers who build your custom cabinetry just as you envision. It starts with kiln-dried rough lumber, which is then processed through our factory to your exact specifications. They manufacture the majority of their products in-house for better control and quality. Their combination of centuries-old hand skills combined with 21st-century state-of-the-art equipment optimizes materials, ensures accuracy, minimizes waste, and helps protects the world's natural resources.

Craftsmanship

Attention to detail defines our process. Measured and imagined, sawn and sanded, hammered and pegged, honed and jointed, lined and waxed, polished and painted. How our cabinets work and feel on the inside is as important to us as their outer appearance. Tailoring, refinement of materials and mechanical fluidity are critically considered and engineered, even when hidden from view. Quality hardwood throughout and broad planked fascias assure strength and longevity. Quality is at the heart of every cabinet we create. Our custom furniture is made predominantly with hardwood from accredited sustainable sources. One of our favorites to use is tulipwood, a strong American hardwood, for the doors, fascias, cabinets, and shelves. Our custom cabinet doors are mortise and tenon jointed and hand planed to fit by skilled cabinet makers with many years of experience. While it is possible to fit doors with machine tools alone, we feel that the investment in skilled cabinet makers is worthwhile, ensuring a level of fit that cannot be achieved by any other means. The tulipwood for our custom cabinets is carefully selected from planed stock and seamlessly glued together to create wide stable panels that you can be certain will not have any knots to bleed through the paintwork. Interlocking hardwood backboards facilitate natural movement so that natural expansion and contraction inherent in timber does not cause problems over the long lifespan of your furniture.
